Geneviève Motard, LL.B., LL.M., LL.D. is an associate professor at the Law Faculty at Université Laval. From 2001 to 2003, she was a clerk for the Cour d’appel du Québec, then a lawyer and an adviser in the field of land rights and land claims. Since 2009, she teaches constitutional law and indigenous peoples’ rights. Her researches focus on the relationships between state and indigenous’ legal orders, as well as on indigenous peoples’ land and political rights. She currently works on the Impact and Benefit Agreements (FRQSC, 2015-2018), on the relationships between Innu’s rights and Quebec’s rights concerning land management and access (SSHRC – Partnership, 2015-2019), and as a regular member, she contributes to the works of the Research network on multi-nation states’ societies (FRQSC, 2017-2020).
