Home Launch of the database "Northern Voices in Environmental Impact Assessment"
May 06 2017

Created by Christopher Fletcher, professor at Université Laval, this database identifies the different concerns voiced by citizens during the public hearings of about 15 development projects across Canada. By providing social and cultural insights, this tool offer a better understanding of how northern people anticipate the changes brought by the construction of pipelines, hydroelectric dams and mining on their territory.  This database has been developed within the Knowledge Network on Environment Impact Assessment and Social Impact of Mining in the Canadian Eastern Arctic and Subarctic (Nunavik, Nunavut and Eeyou Istchee) funded by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada.
