Regional Development Australia is a national network of committees fostering regional economic development. RDAs work in collaboration across Federal, State and Local Governments, business and industry, and the community to boost the economic capability and performance of the region. RDA is an incorporated not‐for‐profit association, funded by the Australian Government through the Department of Regional Development and Infrastructure. The RDA Committee guides and informs the work of the RDA.

There are 55 voluntary RDA committees in Australia, twelve of which are in Queensland. Regional Development Australia Far North Queensland and Torres Strait (RDA) has been established to cover the Far North Queensland and Torres Strait region. 21 local government areas are included in this region.
